Napa Design Partners: Interior Design Services
Designing an interior space that is practical, comfortable, and attractive demands a systematic approach to ensure the results will match the client’s vision.
Napa Design Partners understands how interior design affects productivity and health. The design team strives to integrate the right balance of openness and privacy in their planning while adding comforting interior features that reduce stress and promote success.
The Five-Step Process
Napa Design Partners employs a 5-Step Process to achieve the client’s goals:
The process begins with an in-depth consultation with the client to assess the exact intended use or change of use of the property. By identifying, analyzing, and documenting the client’s needs and goals, the Napa Design Partners Team develops a clear understanding of the objectives that will become the basis for solutions during the subsequent phases.
During the Programming Phase, the Design Team will gather more information from the client while documenting existing conditions, determining design objectives, and assessing spatial requirements.
During this phase, the designers will address technical elements by creating a building code analysis to determine exiting, occupant load, and plumbing fixture counts required for the space based on occupancy classification.
Building code analysis may sometimes uncover the need for additional consultants to address specific technical issues.
Napa Design Partners begins the task of developing concepts, sketches, and test fitting of potential options for the client’s review. During this phase, the designers and client will discuss and review preferences using accurate 2 and 3- dimensional media that provides a clear visual representation of the proposed space.
The presentation will also feature an imagery package showing styles of finishes, fixtures, and furnishings that will further crystallize an image of how the client’s needs may be addressed.
Phase 4: Design Development
With an approved design directive acquired during the Schematic Design Presentation, the Team begins to create computer-aided plans that incorporate the desired elements and can be expanded on as we move to more detailed documentation.
Ideas introduced and decisions made will be incorporated into a more formal set of drawings that will include:
By now, Napa Design Partners have completed most of the permit drawings, having worked out any conflicts that may have arisen from the various consultant’s designs. The official set of construction documents will include schedules, building code-required construction detail drawings, CalGreen compliance documentation, and Life-Safety plans required by the Fire Marshal.
Napa Design Partners will provide a coordination review of all construction documents from all consultants before submitting plans to the building department. These documents pertain to structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, landscape, civil, fire sprinkler, fire alarm, audio-visual, Title-24 Energy, and any other specialized consultant-related discipline involved in the project.
The resulting set of documents represents the foundation for bidding in each discipline used by the general contractor to generate final pricing.
